What is SOAR?

Seeking Out Authentic Relationships (SOAR) is the goal of our SOAR academies. SOARs meet three times a week to research, try out, and learn more about topics of interest to our students. Our SOARs are broken down into three different pathways: Fine Arts, Health and Wellness, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). It’s our goal to allow students to explore areas of interest outside the typical classroom and tap into their curiosities.

How does SOAR work?

  • Our SOARs meet for 45 minutes, 3 times a week.
  • We have two sessions per year (fall and spring), giving our students the opportunity to participate in 6 different SOARs during middle school.
  • SOAR is unique to Chestatee as we are the only middle school in the county that offers this program.

What are SOAR Pathways?

  • All SOAR classes are sorted into Pathways:
    • Fine Arts
    • Health and Wellness
    • STEM
  • Students who complete 3 SOARs within the same pathway earn a certificate for completing that pathway.
